I&M Group Profit Rises 28% to KES 19.8 Billion
I&M Group has posted a profit after tax of KES 19.8 billion for the year ended 31 December 2025, up from KES 15.9 billion in the prior year, with earnings per share rising to KES 10.79 from KES 8.90. Net interest income grew 16% to KES 46 billion from KES 39.6 billion, as interest expenses on customer deposits fell sharply to KES 19.3 billion from KES 25.4 billion, while total interest income held broadly steady at KES 69.2 billion from KES 70.1 billion.
Non-interest income rose 31% to KES 14.4 billion from KES 11 billion, driven by growth in other fees and commissions to KES 4.5 billion from KES 3.3 billion and other income climbing to KES 3.9 billion from KES 1.5 billion, lifting total operating income 19% to KES 60.3 billion from KES 50.6 billion. Operating expenses rose 16% to KES 36.9 billion from KES 31.7 billion, with staff costs climbing to KES 10.9 billion from KES 9.1 billion and loan loss provisions edging up to KES 8.7 billion from KES 7.8 billion.
Asset quality improved, with gross non-performing loans declining to KES 31.4 billion from KES 35.5 billion. Total assets grew to KES 668.9 billion from KES 580.9 billion, with customer deposits expanding to KES 483.9 billion from KES 412.2 billion and net loans and advances rising to KES 306.3 billion from KES 287.5 billion.
The Board has recommended a final dividend of KES 2.25 per share, bringing the total for the year to KES 3.75 from KES 3.00 in 2024, including an interim dividend of KES 1.50 already paid in January 2026. The final dividend is payable on or around 21 May 2026 to shareholders on the register at the close of business on 16 April 2026, with the register closing from 17 to 21 April 2026.
