Diamond Trust Bank Profit Rises 21% to KES 10.7 Billion

Diamond Trust Bank Kenya has posted a group profit after tax of KES 10.7 billion for the year ended 31 December 2025, up from KES 8.8 billion in the prior year, with earnings per share rising to KES 33.65 from KES 27.33. The growth was driven by a decline in deposit costs, with total interest expenses falling to KES 26.1 billion from KES 31.2 billion as interest rates eased, pushing net interest income up to KES 34.8 billion from KES 28 billion.

Total interest income grew to KES 60.1 billion from KES 59.3 billion, supported by growth across loans and advances and deposits and placements held with other banks. Non-interest income fell to KES 11.8 billion from KES 12.9 billion, with total operating income increasing to KES 46.6 billion from KES 41 billion.

The results include a KES 532.6 million loss from discontinued operations following the completed sale of the bank’s Burundi subsidiary, which was finalised on 31 December 2025 after management entered into an agreement to sell it to a consortium of investors in September 2025. Total assets grew to KES 659.1 billion from KES 573.9 billion, with customer deposits expanding to KES 509 billion from KES 447 billion.

The Board has recommended a dividend of KES 9.00 per share for 2025, up from KES 7.00 in 2024, subject to shareholder approval at the Annual General Meeting to be held on 25 June 2026. The share register will close on 22 May 2026, with dividend payment to shareholders on the register as at that date made from 26 June 2026.
