Central Depository and Settlement Corporation (CDSC)

The CDSC is responsible for the clearing and settlement of all trades made on the NSE. It provides the infrastructure for holding securities electronically in a Central Depository System (CDS).

Key Functions:

• Managing CDS accounts for all investors

• Ensuring smooth settlement of trades (typically T+2: trade day plus two business days)

• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date shareholder records

• Supporting mobile-based stock trading and automation
